  1. Agreed. I think many of these addiction cases has been created by your first point. An unfettered market where doctors and psychiatrists are encouraged to prescribe pills when they shouldn't, which leads to hard dependency on these drugs, and a bunch of complications/side-effects.

  2. Big Pharma and the psychiatric industry must be regulated. Prescribing pills on a rapid scale when other alternatives exist, because of lobbying/bribery and monetary reasons, leads to this sort of unnecessary addiction. Addiction that could've been regulated away. We need to get away from a society where popping pills is seen as a good first resort. That includes in the dating scene, psychiatric/medical field, and when experiencing temporary pain that'll fade.
