Good choice, Ecuadorians. Congratulations on granting a decent leader the right to rule. At least compared to the revolutionary alternatives who only will bring down the country further.

@tyrionlannister6459 Nope. Defaulting on debts, spending other people's money without creating any, and maintaining fiscal/monetary policies that no economist believe leads to growth is the problem in these leftist countries. Not USA. Not capitalism. Not conservatism. Sounds like you need to do some research and push the dogma aside there. Good to see that Ecuador has chosen a better path.

@tyrionlannister6459 What does a dictatorship have to do with how an economy is doing, standards of living and stability? Why would you care about democracy if a country is prospering with such a system?

@Saswata_97 Venezuela has implemented lots of socialist policies, price fixing, printing cash, preventing free trade, etc. That has caused their downfall, along with cemented corruption and an overall bad rule. Putting all eggs in one basket (reliance on oil). Russia does also have its problems, but it's not socialist anymore. It's a state capitalist and mixed economy, yes, but dropping the socialist route was a smart decision which has led to growth. Russia still has a weak economy due to their corruption and focus on building an aggressive army rather than spending on infrastructure/stimulative measures, but that's another topic.
