  1. I assume it's ISIS inspired fundamentalist groups. Religious extremists. They've gained a foothold in many of these countries in Africa. Boko Haram and Al-shabab are some quite modern examples.

  2. Crazy. A president in an unstable, terrorist-swarmed and an undeveloped country has died by all the violence. Must be almost unprecedented in the modern day era. How could he have though that it was appropriate to visit the battlegrounds when there's such a grave threat? Did he want to go out in a patriotic manner?
