A "socialist economist" is almost like an oxymoron though. Most educated people rejects socialism. Especially most economists. Is he really educated?

America and the CIA aren't resorting to such tactics as much anymore. Although Ecuador and its people would benefit from removing a socialist from power.

@Madd 1243 The "rich socialist countries" tends to be rich by the use of free market reforms, free trade, and capitalist foundations.

@lot2352 Usually if they're too socialized, poorly run, with a low educated population and a lack of attraction of investors/companies. Most capitalist countries tend to do very well though, at least compared with their socialist counterparts full of poverty and suppression of rights. It's almost as if there's a common denominator between modern socialism and misery/famine/poverty. Why support a failing concept?
