Because they're neutral and a professional country trying to seek as many diplomatic partners as possible? Just like Switzerland.

@shavkatpanda EU shouldn't intervene anywhere, unless global peace is at risk or if actual genocide is occurring. Why celebrate imperialism, colonialism and interference?

@benghazi4216 Okay, I didn't know that. And that still doesn't invalidate my main point that Switzerland and other prosperous countries are doing all they can to uphold strong diplomatic partners. Usually that implies having a neutral role, being friendly, non-judging, and ensuring that your partners are pleased for reciprocal wins. Usually that implies not sanctioning or cutting ties to anyone. Singapore acts similarly, I think.

Either way, nothing will happen by sanctions. The Myanmar military is too strong, robust and supported by many foreign powers. Does EU have the moral authority to intervene?
