  1. The arab spring completely failed. Goes to show how ineffective protests tend to be if the country is governed by a centralized authoritarian state, or if the people don't even know what they want. Just look at Tunisia. Sure, they got their beloved democracy, but the country is worse off than before when looking at economic growth, jobs available, and stability.

  2. Qatar hasn't changed much at all and not many protests were seen in the country from what I remember. But the country shifted their foreign policy to take advantage of the arab spring, e.g, by sponsoring rebel groups in Syria to break down the regime (which angered Iran) or by sponsoring other organizations that many countries classify as subversive and radical, which partially led to the blockage of Qatar in 2017.
