  1. Macau is likely how Hong Kong will look like a couple of years after the Chinese takeover in 2047. If it takes that long to fully take over the territory, that is.

  2. The type of values that are pushed upon the rest of the world by the West aren't that great. At least not their stance on most social issues and morality. But, they're right in that China may be a geopolitical threat. Look at their expansionist policy in the South China Sea, when handling Taiwan, the coast outside of Ecuador, and when diplomacy is handled overall. The Chinese military is used to take over all available territory, abuse "enemies", apply a zero mercy approach, and extract all resources you can find by violating maritime rules and international law. China are destabilizing the world, and it isn't a beneficial approach to take. Just like how Iran, China, Turkey, North Korea and some others are looking to satisfy short-term self-serving interests by threatening force, rather than peaceful diplomacy.
