  1. The Philipphine authorities recently killed off some leaders of the terror designated group known as Abu Sayyaf, infamous for kidnappings and many crimes. There's many separatists and wrongdoers in the impoverished and quite unstable country of the Philipphines. So I can see why the government has to step in harsh. We know how common it is for people to resist arrest and avoid directives by the police, leading to violent encounters. I presume that was the cases with these activists as well. But we don't know for sure.
