  3.  @redwoodpartisan2433  Ignorance, because they believe that the welfare handouts will benefit them and the country, and due to indoctrination. Leftism has spread its poisonous tentacles in way too many places around the world. Its presence seems to gradually deteriorate, but it's still way too potent. Argentina is a decent example. Although I do have to concede that the Argentinian government has at least done their best to handle the coronavirus by enforcing national lockdowns and systems of quarantine. Can't deny that. The effectiveness of doing so is however contested, perhaps due to the restrictions having been imposed too late.
