The HK rioters created this scenario all by themselves. If they handled themselves properly, behaved, and protested against policies/proposals that actually matter, China wouldn't intervene. That wasn't the case, leading to these valid crackdowns.

@ezfist9204 Haven't Reuters got a policy in place that encourages journalists to be very careful when using the term "terrorist" though? Reuters are generally objective and a sound organization. Not worth condemning for the most part, compared with the many biased and slanderous news stations out there.

Lol, no. Surveillance systems should be expanded and developed, not abolished. Just look at the coronavirus failures in the US, criminality on our streets, plunderes, looters, rioters and extremists. Those need to be tracked down and jailed. In those regards, China is a decent example of a country to partially imitate. This security law in HK is also 100% necessary if you look into the situation in HK right now. Shattered economy, disorder on the streets.

@jdan8620 Preventing many of the issues that I raised would offset the potential ramifications of '1984'. No need to go overly excessive when incorporating the practises either.
