Production of weapons and nuclear would happen even under an Islamic dictatorship, and an Islamic dictatorship would use such technology in a much more hurtful manner for the globe. Just take a look at most middle eastern and African countries, their rule, and what sort of society taht rebel groups in these countries are trying to create.
Waste and pollution would also occur under an incompetent, uneducated and religious-based/instinctive leadership ending up desperate because they can't govern a country or an economy, such as the Taliban. Kidnapping/torture/forcing people to adopt, are an engraved part of these Islamic values as well. Way worse than in most Western countries. So there's lots of inaccurate assumptions in that post, Caring, that should be edited or redacted if you cared about feedback. I don't think you do, but at least those reading will get more of an accurate view of what's going on.
As a final note, I don't think we should force Western democracy upon anyone. But we shouldn't allow militias and islamic fundamentalists willing to kill off and torture people to create a regime that won't benefit their people ore humanity. The Taliban must be stopped, as every person with an ounce of humanity believes.

As a swede, I'm appalled and incredibly disappointed with the weak strategy that our country, government and health institute has instigated so far (slowly changing, luckily). We're usually dubbed a scientific, credible and stable country, but this pandemic has yet again shown the complete contrary. Scientific data on mask usage, shutdowns and disciplinary restrictions has been rejected by almost every official and institution responsible for handling the virus.
Wrongful calculations has been made regarding herd immunity. The deadly approach of reaching herd immunity was spoken positively about up until its horribel connotations were revealed, which led to authorities starting to dismiss that they spoke positively about it. Incompetence has been expressed over and over again by leaks and decisions taken by immunologists, researchers and epidemiologists Anders Tegnell, Johan Giesecke, Emma Frans, Agnes Wold, Karin Tegmark, Stefan Löfvén (up until recently) and many others. Equality has literally been an important part of the strategy.
Unbelievable. I'm glad that improvements slowly but surely are incorporated, however.

Maradona's political views were quite interesting, least said, he was a communist. Strange how people end up on this track:
Having previously been vocal in his support of neoliberal Argentine President Carlos Menem and his Harvard University–educated economist Domingo Cavallo, Maradona showed sympathy to left-wing ideologies. He supported the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and condemned Israel's military strikes on Gaza during the 2014 Israel–Gaza conflict, saying: "What Israel is doing to the Palestinians is shameful." He became friends with Cuban leader Fidel Castro while receiving treatment on the island, with Castro stating, "Diego is a great friend and very noble, too. There's also no question he’s a wonderful athlete and has maintained a friendship with Cuba to no material gain of his own." Maradona had a portrait of Castro tattooed on his left leg and one of Fidel's second in command, fellow Argentine Che Guevara on his right arm. In his autobiography, El Diego, he dedicated the book to various people, including Castro. He wrote, "To Fidel Castro and, through him, all the Cuban people.
Maradona voiced support for Bolivia's ousted president Evo Morales and was also a supporter of former Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez. In 2005, he came to Venezuela to meet Chávez, who received him in the Miraflores Palace. After the meeting, Maradona said that he had come to meet a "great man" (un grande, which can also mean "a big man", in Spanish), but had instead met a gigantic man (un gigante). He also stated, "I believe in Chávez, I am a Chavista. Everything Fidel does, everything Chávez does, for me is the best." Maradona was Chávez's guest of honour at the opening game of the 2007 Copa América held in Venezuela.
In 2004, he participated in a protest against the U.S.–led war in Iraq. Maradona declared his opposition to what he identified as imperialism, particularly during the 2005 Summit of the Americas in Mar del Plata, Argentina. There he protested George W. Bush's presence in Argentina, wearing a T-shirt labelled "STOP BUSH" (with the "s" in "Bush" being replaced with a swastika) and referring to Bush as "human garbage".In August 2007, Maradona went further, making an appearance on Chávez's weekly television show Alo Presidente and saying, "I hate everything that comes from the United States. I hate it with all my strength." By December 2008, however, Maradona had adopted a more pro-US attitude and expressed admiration for Bush's successor, then-President-elect Barack Obama, for whom he had great expectations.
In December 2007, Maradona presented a signed shirt with a message of support to the people of Iran: it is displayed in the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' museum. In April 2013, Maradona visited the tomb of Hugo Chávez and urged Venezuelans to elect the late leader's designated successor, Nicolás Maduro, to continue the socialist leader's legacy; "Continue the struggle," Maradona said on television. Maradona attended Maduro's final campaign rally in Caracas, signing footballs and kicking them to the crowd, and presented Maduro with an Argentina jersey. Having visited Chávez's tomb with Maradona, Maduro said, "Speaking with Diego was very emotional because comandante Chávez also loved him very much." Maradona participated and danced at the electoral campaign rally during the 2018 presidential elections in Venezuela. During the 2019 Venezuelan presidential crisis, the Mexican Football Federation fined him for violating their code of ethics and dedicating a team victory to Nicolás Maduro.

First off, China isn't communist anymore if you look at their policies. They've got socialist programs, believes in a form of equal outcome, praises Mao, and supports communist countries, but they're not communist in nature anymore. They've become state capitalist.
Secondly, Hong Kong and Carrie Lam is certainly Not communist at all. She rules one of the most capitalist and powerful financial hubs in the world, in Hong Kong.
Thirdly, the new security legislation in Hong Kong and the way that Lam is working with China to uphold stability in HK, jail violent vandals, and restore the economic situation, is worthy of PRAISE; not condemnation. The West is entirely wrong on this matter and are acting hypocritically. If the West were burning, would they accept the burning to continue? Would they strengthen security? Would they arrest the vandals? The answer is obvious.

@ZackKcaz I believe that morals can be developed without a religious basis or doctrine. Philosophically, I think that actions and conduct that results in the undermination of someone's health, the removal of someone's life, injuring someone or infringing upon needed principles to preserve a stable, safe and prosperous nation, is immoral. That's how I base all my moral values on, and they align with many religious values. But that does not inherently make them religious, but rather backed up by data, scientific consensus regarding medical/public health, rational arguments, and based on what's needed to advance and protect society.

It's a shame, really, but expected that Trump is gradually indicating that he'll hand over power. Democrats does not deserve to win or take over the WH. They support domestic terror groups, if you will (Blm, Antifa, groups that wreaked havoc because a thug died), convicts mainly vote Dem, illegal migrants votes Dem, Democrats opposes voter ID laws and laws that strengthen election security (pure cheating), and law & order, civility, favoring law-abiding citizens and improving the nation isn't even part of their vocabulary. Only traitors votes Blue. Shame that Republicans didn't do what it takes to stop them.

He was literally a communist. He exploited the capitalist system to become rich, evaded taxes, gathered a bunch of debt, while opposing the system that made him into the successful person that he became (in some regards).
He defended an ideology that historically has resulted in mass murder, oppression, and economic downturn. But he grew up in a poor family, with presumably little education and a society governed by socialism, so I suppose we can't judge him too hard for not seeing the risks posed by such a system, and for improperly thinking that Maduro, Chavez, Castro, Guevara and other radical revolutionaries would solve economic injustice and societies in decay.

The scene hasn't changed at all. Trump and his supporters hasn't shifted policy, stances, or how they behave. Twitter and the world decided to exaggerate the incident on Capitol Hill to crackdown upon every scapegoat that could be sacrificed and burned at the sake, after having been silent when BLM burned down USA for months this summer.
Nothing is "dangerous" or "divisive" about what Trump, the republican party or his base believes. They're moderates, as opposed to many other parts of the world where actual radical policies exists.
If you celebrate this, you're fine with biased suppression, persecution and oppression of innocent dissidents. I know many of Al Jazeera's viewers are in favor of that (because their home countries works that way), which is despicable and unfortunate. But think of it this way, would you be fine with this arbitrary suppression if you, your associates and beliefs were (and they will be) targeted in the same way?

*In court on Monday, assistant district attorney Joan Illuzzi accused Rotunno of “degrading and humiliating” one of the prosecution’s witnesses in an interview with CNN earlier this month. Rotunno said that was not her intent.
*
*If the jury perceives Rotunno as aggressive, it could hurt Weinstein’s case, said defense attorney Michael Bachner.
*
*“Just because you’re a woman doesn’t mean you can beat up in a way the jury finds offensive,” he said, adding that an attorney’s skill and character will matter more to jurors than gender.
*
*A former prosecutor, Rotunno has represented some 40 defendants accused of sexual assault since she opened her own firm in Chicago in 2005, she said.
*
*Weinstein has cycled through several high-profile lawyers since his indictment in 2018, and one said Weinstein’s behavior made the job “unreasonably difficult.” Rotunno, the first woman to lead his defense, said she finds Weinstein “very easy to work with.”
*
*Her clients have included Senegalese fashion designer Elhadji Gueye and Stanley Stallworth, a former partner at Chicago law firm Sidley Austin, who were both accused of rape and acquitted.
*
*Rotunno said she does not support the #MeToo movement because it can unfairly sway public opinion against defendants.
*
*Her belief that unproven allegations and media scrutiny had eroded Weinstein’s right to a fair trial motivated her to take the case, she said.
*
“I knew that being a woman at this sort of crossroads in history with MeToo and Times Up, I knew that my role in it would be different than that of a male lawyer,” Rotunno told Reuters. “People say well wait, you’re going against your gender or how dare you. But to me, there’s something bigger than our gender and that’s our rights.”
Wow. This defence lawyer is truly a brilliant and rational woman. Much props.

Gunter Ringgenberg Well, I disagree. Optimally, cop should do whatever it takes to render criminals harmless, if it's proven that they've committed severe crimes.
The police has to protect themselves and the public from substantial threats, shooters, murderers and psychos wreaking havoc. In such cases, they're cracked down upon by fierce intervention. That's how it works in every democracy, and every country. They're not executing them, but intervening, attempting to arrest, and doing what it takes to protect themselves.

Millions of swedes has shown no empathy or concern for the rest of the country throughout this pandemic. People have partied, gathered in large groups, went to clubs, bars, held huge birthday/student parties, defied recommendations, and supported an open strategy which implies almost no restrictions, no curfews, no quarantines, no virus tracking, and no precautionary measures. So please tell me why I should sacrifice myself for such an indifferent group of people. A group of people that couldn't care less if half the country died, as long as they could carry on living selfishly. All motivation is depleted in this regard.
I'd only take the vaccine if it's approved and if it's mandatory, equal for everybody. Don't take the vaccine? Get fined. Jailed. Removed. Such an approach would never occur in my Sweden though.

The PM's excuse for terrorism is alarming, but quite expected when you look at who leads this cabinet. A left-winger in favor of a planned economy who've appeased socialists in the country. The PM's (not the president's) comments: "In May 2021, the Office of the Prosecutor Against Terrorism opened an investigation against Guido Bellido for the alleged crime of "apology to terrorism", following an interview where he spoke about the Shining Path : "The country was in a disastrous state in 1980. Some Peruvians took the wrong path. Are they Peruvians or not? They have rights. What do you have against the members of the Shining Path?" he had said in an interview with an online media"
As for what type of group the Shining Path is, it's a communist organization that uses violence to achieve their goals. Designated as terrorists by plenty of states, according to Wikipedia:
"The Communist Party of Peru – is a revolutionary communist party and guerrilla group in Peru following Marxism–Leninism–Maoism and Gonzalo Thought.
"
"When it first launched during the internal conflict in Peru in 1980, its goal was to overthrow the state by guerrilla warfare and replace it with a New Democracy. The PCP-SL believed that by establishing a dictatorship of the proletariat, inducing a cultural revolution, and eventually sparking a world revolution, they could arrive at full communism. Their representatives stated that the then-existing socialist countries were revisionist, and the Shining Path was the vanguard of the world communist movement. The PCP-SL's ideology and tactics have influenced other Maoist insurgent groups such as the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) and other Revolutionary Internationalist Movement-affiliated organizations. The Peruvian guerrillas were peculiar in that they had a high proportion of women; 50% of the combatants and 40% of the commanders were women. "
"The Shining Path has been widely condemned for its brutality, including violence deployed against peasants, trade union organizers, competing Marxist groups, elected officials and the general public. The Shining Path is regarded as a terrorist organization by Peru, Japan, the United States, the European Union, and Canada, which consequently prohibit funding and other financial support for the group."
I can see why the new Peruvian cabinet were questioned. The left-leaning socialist policies that the current president is advocating for does not have a good track record. Hopefully the country doesn't fall into a deeper recession and economic downturn.

The daily infection and death rate is alarming, higher than most countries on earth. The total per capita death rate is also very alarming, Sweden is ranked 10 or 20 in the globe there. This approach of doing nothing has not worked in the country, and has been demoralizing. People and politicians has defied recommendations, skied, travelled abroad and nonchalantly dismissed the guidelines entirely. So something had to be done. These laws are good first step. But this government should be punished and held accountable for their negligence and for enabling this mess in the first place. That includes Löfvén, Hallengren, Tegnell, Giesecke, Dan Eliasson, and everyone who've spread misinfo to uphold this failing strategy.

d the best Didn't he just say that he were an atheist? Where's the hate in what he's saying?
I fact checked his claims. They seem to be true:
"Though Christmas has become a retail extravaganza, its holiday roots lie in the celebration of the birth of Jesus, who the Christian religion regards as the son of God. But was Jesus really born on December 25?
The short answer is no. It is not believed Jesus was born on the day Christmas is globally celebrated. Instead, Christmas was chosen as a convenient celebratory day on the same day of a pagan holiday that celebrated the winter solstice, according to The History Channel. The holiday was celebrated as the Roman pagan solstice, or "birthday of the unconquered sun," which began on December 17 and ended December 25.
Another major plot point, regarding Jesus's birth and parents Mary and Joseph's commute to their hometown, Bethlehem, was the concept that Mary and Joseph had to travel to Bethlehem for the Roman census. The census allegedly would not have occurred in the winter, or December specifically, because the turnout would have been expected low.
As for when Jesus was really born, many Christians base their calculation on the birth of Jesus's cousin, John the Baptist. John was conceived six months before Jesus. If his birth is taken into consideration, it leaves Jesus's birth in June. United Church of God specifically names June 13 to 17 as a likely time Jesus was born."

For those curious about his political views, let's just say that he was a quite stern Castro, Guevara, Chavez and Maduro supporter, under the umbrella of communist ideology:
"Maradona showed sympathy to left-wing ideologies. He became friends with Cuban leader Fidel Castro while receiving treatment on the island, with Castro stating, "Diego is a great friend and very noble, too. There's also no question he’s a wonderful athlete and has maintained a friendship with Cuba to no material gain of his own."[73] Maradona had a portrait of Castro tattooed on his left leg and one of Fidel's second in command, fellow Argentine Che Guevara on his right arm.[251] In his autobiography, El Diego, he dedicated the book to various people, including Castro. He wrote, "To Fidel Castro and, through him, all the Cuban people."
"Maradona was also a supporter of former Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez. In 2005, he came to Venezuela to meet Chávez, who received him in the Miraflores Palace. After this meeting, Maradona claimed that he had come with the aim of meeting a "great man" ("un grande" in Spanish), but he had met instead a gigantic man ("un gigante" in Spanish, meaning he was more than great). "I believe in Chávez, I am Chavista. Everything Fidel does, everything Chávez does, for me is the best."[253] Maradona was the guest of honour of Chávez at the opening game of the 2007 Copa América held in Venezuela."
"Maradona declared his opposition to what he identified as imperialism, particularly during the 2005 Summit of the Americas in Mar del Plata, Argentina. There he protested George W. Bush's presence in Argentina, wearing a T-shirt labelled "STOP BUSH" (with the "s" in "Bush" being replaced with a swastika) and referring to Bush as "human garbage".[255][256] In August 2007, Maradona went further, making an appearance on Chávez's weekly television show Alo Presidente and saying, "I hate everything that comes from the United States. I hate it with all my strength." In December 2008, however, Maradona had adopted a more pro-US attitude when he expressed admiration for Bush's successor, President-elect Barack Obama, and held great expectations for him."
"With his poor shanty town upbringing, Maradona cultivated a man-of-the-people persona. During a meeting with Pope John Paul II at the Vatican in 1987, they clashed on the issue of wealth disparity, with Maradona stating, "I argued with him because I was in the Vatican and I saw all these golden ceilings and afterwards I heard the Pope say the Church was worried about the welfare of poor kids. Sell your ceiling then amigo, do something!" In September 2014, Maradona met with Pope Francis in Rome, crediting Francis for inspiring him to return to religion after many years; he stated, "We should all imitate Pope Francis. If each one of us gives something to someone else, no one in the world would be starving."
"In December 2007, Maradona presented a signed shirt with a message of support to the people of Iran: it is displayed in the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' museum.[260] In April 2013, Maradona visited the tomb of Hugo Chávez and urged Venezuelans to elect the late leader's designated successor, Nicolás Maduro, to continue the socialist leader's legacy; "Continue the struggle," Maradona said on television. During the 2019 Venezuelan presidential crisis, the Mexican Football Federation fined him for violating their code of ethics and dedicating a team victory to Nicolás Maduro."

Everyone is leaving California, but it isn't due to their wildfires, but rather high tax rate. Musk left recently, corporations are moving to red states, and the rich avoids California like the plague.
Good on them for taking climate change seriously though. We'll need a federal plan for it, a state won't be enough, but it's a good start. Limiting the use of grills is also important: "According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), grills are the cause of more than 10,000 house fires each year, on average — resulting in $149 million in property damage."
And unhealthy smoking can cause wildfires. Will the a Dem governor handle these latter flaws though? Unlikely. Same goes for GOP, frankly.

The type of values that are pushed upon the rest of the world by the West aren't that great. At least not their stance on most social issues and morality. But, they're right in that China may be a geopolitical threat. Look at their expansionist policy in the South China Sea, when handling Taiwan, the coast outside of Ecuador, and when diplomacy is handled overall. The Chinese military is used to take over all available territory, abuse "enemies", apply a zero mercy approach, and extract all resources you can find by violating maritime rules and international law. China are destabilizing the world, and it isn't a beneficial approach to take. Just like how Iran, China, Turkey, North Korea and some others are looking to satisfy short-term self-serving interests by threatening force, rather than peaceful diplomacy.

Anyway, if you think that open borders is an approach to stimulate the motivation and economic output at home, you'd be wrong. Many countries have tried that approach and the result have been mass unemployment (unless labor migration is what you're talking about), cultural division and a depleted welfare state. Look at Sweden and Germany for some great examples of this.
I think the state's monetary and fiscal policy, and social policies that lets people develop great qualities/qualifications, is what dictates how people act on the market. Argentina has stifled innovation, taxed its people to death, and made it difficult to invest/start up companies in the country.
As for the claim about mixed children, I look it up quickly and found something pointing towards the contrary: " A new study that involved surveying 90,000 adolescent U.S. students showed that those who considered themselves to be of mixed race were more likely than others to suffer from depression, substance abuse, sleep problems and various aches and pains."
Where did you come up with that idea? From thin air?

@southindianvoice1282 I presume that's true. I took a quick look at Qatar's track record of providing aid to their neighbors and poor countries abroad. 2 articles I found regarding shipments and the Qatari humanitarian fund:
1:
"Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has shipped several shipments of urgent medical aid to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Angola to support their efforts to counter and contain the outbreak of the Corona pandemic (Covid-19).
These 25-ton shipments, which Qatar Airways delivered, included medical equipment and supplies such as masks and personal protective equipment for medical staff.
His Excellency Mr. Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Kuwari, Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development said: “This medical assistance reflects the great efforts made by the State of Qatar to combat the spread of this pandemic globally, which comes as a matter of joint global responsibility to try to contain the spread of this pandemic.”
2:
"The State of Qatar represented by Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has dispatched four shipments weighing 34 tonnes of urgent medical aid to four countries — Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and North Macedonia.
This came following the directive of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to support the efforts of friendly governments to confront COVID-19 epidemic, QFFD said in a tweet.
Each beneficiary country will get 8.5 tonnes urgent medical aid which was sent by Qatar.
QFFD confirmed that the medical aid reached Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia."

If only. Many scientific revolutions and conclusions based off of all the available evidence tends to be politicized and dismissed based on its content, these days. That's dangerous. The left dismisses data about crime rate, mental complications within certain groups. The right (if you can call it that, they're liberal/libertarian) dismisses data that e.g. proves that quarantine measures, mask usage and vaccines are effective and that its benefits outweigh its risks/side-effects.
Some pseudo-scientific fields are also labelled as scientific, such as conclusions based off of qualitative data collection, subjective interpretations, assessments that are difficult to keep objective, etc. Gender studies, CRT, feminist doctrines, and so on.
It's also unfortunate that some states provides extra funds to do research about subjects that may benefit the state. Or subjects that are related to pseudo-science.
And lastly, corporations has sometimes way too much of a say in studies and scientific research. Such as the tobacco industry trying to lie and present the notion that the usage of tobacco isn't as risky as it has been proven to be.

What a miserable state the country is in. The Maduro regime should leave immediately and let a fair and stable political change occur through holding actual legitimate elections, rooting out corruption, accepting international cooperation, private property, stimulative fiscal/monetary policies and doing what it takes to eliminate poverty, crime, and injustice. Horrible to see that there's people, and states (Iran, Russia, Turkey, China) that supports this incompetent regime.

It's for the better. This irrational movement shouldn't have dragged on for so long. Sure, oppose the extradition laws. But the laws were suspended, and yet the movement continued rioting, destroying businesses, threatened people, defamed the police, defaced the streets, teared apart traffic light cables, acted racist against Chinese mainlanders, and crushed the economy. They tried to release violent felons and investigate the HK police for no reason. Of course the instigators should be held accountable, which is what is happening now. Law & order can now be reimplemented.
