@entropy8634 "How does Saddam not having wmd have anything to do with current analysis of the events?" I suspect his argument is that the analysis he disagrees with comes (in some way) from the US or other Western intelligence services which were proven unreliable in the 2003 invasion of Iraq. (I'm not myself taking a position on whether this is a good argument or not.)

@entropy8634 Ad hominem isn't always a fallacy. If some person advances their expertise or secret information (as an intelligence organization might) then it may be rational to take into account their track record when considering that argument. Though I'm not sure whether CIA has publicly said anything on this so coder entity's argument might still be irrelevant here. However, I still want to make the general point that ad hominen is in order in some contexts.

"Wait, what? They don't even bother to make their BS sound internally plausible." Lukashenko doesn't. It's not really his war. I've even seen some (well, actually just Kamil Galeev) claim that he's deliberately mixing in completely illucid stuff in his propaganda messages as deliberate sabotage. I don't know if that's true or not but at the very least for him it doesn't matter as much whether anyone actually believes him. Putin has more reason to make his propaganda believable.

"Didn't Lukashenko fear that his population would try to bring him to fall if he took part in the war? What changed?" I don't think anything has changed. Empty threats (and use of Belarusian territory) are his contributions to the war. He probably still wants to avoid direct involvement.

@Tamachii12 "The owner commands bite, the orc has to obey...simple as that..." Lukashenko is craftier than that. He just promises to obey, someday, maybe, but never actually delivers. He has also been promising a union between Russia and Belarus for a long. He gets cheap oil and gas as a repayment. Despite this he's never going to deliver on his promise (unless he can become the leader of the united Russia-Belarus).

@Tamachii12 Why? What would Putin do if he doesn't comply?
