  5.  @CMY187  I would certainly like Russia to embrace Democracy but who knows when that will be. After the fall of the Soviet Union it seemed like that was a possibility but that doesn’t seem likely now. Even if Putin is removed it is probable that another dictator will take over. Yes Japan and Germany are doing much better now but it took almost the total destruction of their societies to transform their countries. From what I have seen about Russians they have this mindset that they are the superior culture and therefore they should rule the world. Part of this idea may come from the major role of Russia in defeating Nazi Germany. I wonder if Russia completely loses in Ukraine if they will feel a little more contrite about their role in the world but who knows.

  6. There was a story a while back that if Russia is severely weakened by the war that China might “liberate” some Russian territory just north of China.

  7. I also read in comment sections on other sites how the war has been a fake war by Russia and that next week Russia will begin the “real” war against Ukraine.
