The Herminator: "not aware" of any allegations, then he is aware and describes one of them but isn't aware of a settlement (when he's the head of the organization AND the one accused??) then he changed his stance again and suddenly was aware of the settlement. A lot of times it's not the original scandal that brings them down, it's their reaction to it. Cain talks about "anonymous" sources but these two women certainly aren't "anonymous" --- he knows who they are and what they accused him of.

@timongarretson the gold standard = snake oil. It would mean anyone with a dollar could exchange it for gold. We went off the gold standard because our trade imbalance meant there wasn't enough gold to back it up---otherwise you'd empty Fort Knox and put up a "vacant" sign. There's no way we could reimpose the gold standard as we simply don't have enough gold to support it. A worldwide economic collapse would be guaranteed.
