  1. @rLOVEutionFor2012 Nobody knows for sure, because it's secret. It's part of the "black budget" that only a select few members of Congress and within the executive branch. We do know it's a LOT. There are estimates out there. If you look at what we spend on the pentagon alone, on wars overseas and then add even some conservative estimates on intelligence spending on top of that it's easy to get a figure that adds up to more than we spend on social programs.

  2. We spend a lot more on defense and intelligence (CIA, NSA) than we do on social programs---a lot more. Yet all we hear about "big government spending" by the Republicans is when it comes to helping people instead of killing them.
