  1. Instead of investing money in new products or services, companies are buying politicians as a far better investment. They can be bought for nothing and the payoff is billions in corporate loopholes, so they don't have to pay taxes, plus corporate welfare and stock buybacks so the CEO can earn a bonus, on top of his oversized pay. The rest of us are screwed without campaign-finance reform.
