  2.  @sixpackbinky  bullshit. There are windmills in the frozen Midwest that still work, because they winterize them. Texas was too stupid and ignorant to do so. Even without wind power, Texas should have enough electricity from fossil fuels and nuclear power, but they failed to winterize these as well. The whole system shut down. About 10 years ago, federal power regulators warned Texas that this would happen, but "independent" Texans decided they'd rather let their pipes freeze and get a federal handout when it happens.
