Crypto itself is a scam because the only thing you can do with it is sell it to someone more gullible than you. It's just like Dutch tulip bulbs of the 1600s or beanie babies of the 90s--fads based on nothing but hype. With stock market and real estate bubbles, each of them were overhyped and money came pouring in from people who didn't really know what they were doing, just following the trend. Of course with real investments such as gold, stocks, bonds and real estate they each have an underlying value and use because they actually exist in the real world.
