  1. 16:45 East Germans GDP per capita is 75% of west but it has also grown a lot…it’s just that west Germany economy grew as well. So they are better off today. However, The 90’s were indeed a tough time as they transitioned — same happened to most countries transitioning from communism to free market in the 90s.
