Latin America for sure is the most homogenous large area In the world. Same language, mostly same religion, most cities look similar (due to Spain city planning and architecture), and music and other cultural elements are shared across much of Latin America. Africa is the complete opposite lol. Genetically sub Sahara Africa is similar but that’s about it — so many languages and religions.

@RS-ls7mm 8 languages but basically 70% Spanish 25% Portuguese and 5% others. Btw, Latin America usually only covers the Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries.

@RS-ls7mm it’s kind of odd to disagree that relative to other large regions, Latin America isn’t the most homogeneous.

@Venezolano410 I’m Mexican (born in Mexico but raised in the US). I’ve traveled to 10 Latin American countries. I can tell you that there are indeed a lot of cultural similarities among many Spanish speaking Latin American countries. Again, this is a comparison to other regions. Are you saying that Costa Rica and Mexico are less similar than Niger and Uganda? Please answer and don’t ignore (which you will because you will realize you have no argument).

@Venezolano410 if you were smart you would realize that it’s all compared to other region. So you think the dozens of countries in Latin America that speak Spanish, are predominantly Catholic, have similar goods and customs, etc is somehow less homogeneous than sub Saharan Africa where there are dozens of major languages, dozens of religions, etc?

@tiberiupaslaru3830 I agree. Europe has many languages with 3 major religions (Catholics Protestant orthodox). While there are indeed many shared cultural elements, they are certainly less homogeneous than Spanish speaking Latin American countries.
