  1. They are competing but not closest competition. They are both visual content programming which take up our viewing entertainment much like McDonald competes with chipotle. They aren’t as direct competitors like Burger King vs McDonald’s but they are still restaurants offering quick food.

  2.  @solveigvan808  it would be more like comparing chipotle and McDonald’s, both are fast food but different foods. They do compete and people make a decision “should I do lunch at McDonald’s or Chipotle” just like they do “should I watch a Netflix movies/series or watch YouTube”. Of course there are even closer competitors like McDonald’s vs Burger King or Netflix vs HBO but watching more YouTube does lead to watching less Netflix and vice versa.
