Unless Alex Baldwin comes out and says he is an expert gunslinger, he knows about guns he would not be responsible. He may not know he is supposed to check the weapon himself to make sure his gun has what he is told it has. Even If he did, would he know what he was looking at? So he would not be personally held accountable. His production company, insurance though, will have to pay out as it would for any death on the set. The Armorer on the other hand. That’s her job. To make sure which gun is going out has the right casing. That’s her job and from what I understand the director was able to walk up to that table and take a weapon without know which gun he had. She failed her job. She failed her responsibility of care and safety.
