That’s because he was donating money to political parties to fast track his projects or look the other way. I honestly think it would cost less to do the right thing but, I don’t deal with multi-million dollar properties.

@walsh9354 - lots of people think that. I had a house built and I thought my contractor pulled all the permits. He didn’t and when the inspector came to look at the stuff on the permits he noticed all the other stuff. Reported it and a good thing too. The electrician did the wrong wiring, the plumper was using the wrong materials for plumbing and I would have had to replace it all within 5 years if I didn’t have a fire first. So I’m glad the city requires permits, it keeps all the contractors / subcontractors honest.

@joshz3788 - true, that’s why he went and built it anyway. He was hoping that once it was built he would get all the permits backdated. That didn’t happen so, he sold it.
