The airline could have allowed the battery on the plane with the scooter as long as the scooter was checked luggage Is what it sounds like. Also, why didn’t he rent a wheelchair or scooter where he was at? At least he would not have been stuck crawling to the bathroom or stuck in his room. Then he could have sued the airline for that unexpected cost. Unless he is planing on suing for more under the false belief that he shouldn’t have had to if they had let him have his scooter. Courts look more favorably to people who at least try to fix the situation. His only problem being he was in an island that did not not could not have such equipment.
