How did she get out there from her air B&B? Was the desert near the home? Did she walk for miles without realizing she was out so far? Or Was she dumped there?

@Seek1878 - happens more than you think, High, on drugs, drunk, new to what a desert truly is and goes thinking there is water a few miles away, there is always something to drink. She may have been an American Citizen but I know of exchange students from other countries that do not realize how big California is or it’s deserts. They think maybe 5 miles cause that’s what it looks like on their countries maps. I have relatives from the east coast who do not know how big California is that after 8 hours of driving you could still be in the same state. Where in their state they have gone from top to bottom in 4. They have never seen a desert and thought it was just something Hollywood made up. So my Mom took them. They thought that it was not big deal cause there would be something to drink in a few miles down the road. 4 hours of driving and they saw few places and they have refused to come back. Thinking it’s more dangerous in the desert then in their neck of the woods. They will take a swamp over a desert anyway. So Yes, I do believe she could have just gone for a long walk at dusk without realizing nowhere she was at or what she was doing.
