Funny but, once we stopped corporal punishment in the home (ie: spanking) giving awards for just participating and not winning, kids do not learn to live with feeling disappointed. She knew what she did was wrong but she thought that she could get away with it cause she always has. She never got punished, really punished for messing up. You talk back to an adult and you got the belt, you break a siblings toy and you got the belt and your toys taken away from you. You learned at a young age that your actions have consequences. Then you have parents who gave her up to foster care cause they didn’t know what to do. Now they have a killer on their hands. Oh sorry, the state does cause the parents can wash their hands of her.
