  1. I have the first year Prius Plug-In. Does it use NiMH for the main cells and Li-Ion for the EV (plug-in) function?

  2. There is a you tube channel (I won't mention it) that is selling an aftermarket Li-Ion replacement for the Prius NiMH. They claim it's a simple replacement with no change to any other hardware or software. Apparently, the replacement includes hardware that fools the battery management into thinking it's still managing NiMH. $1900. My 2012 Prius Plug-In, 130K miles, still shows 14.4V in the service menu when fully charged.
