  1. tariffs will just increase the cost of goods in the us. it might backfire. but i think the threat of a tariff will bring the chinese to the table. all this will do is cause the chinese to find other ways to import their stuff to the us. and we all will just end up paying more for the same goods. manufacturing will not pick up, the cost of labor in the US is too high to make value goods. those jobs may end up in mexico or canada. tariffs only work IF you arent a reserve currency.
