That's why you need to keep wearing masks and follow other prevention measures like social distancing. We will only get this behind us when we have a vaccine.

@thomasa4239 Where did you get that nonsense from? Always a new conspiracy on facebook, I guess ... :-/
3
@zhengqianyu7913 We do contact tracing. With the rising number of cases the system is reaching its limits though. One more reason to stop the spread fast.

What's Kim got to do with it?
2
We need to act, wear masks and keep away from other people if possible. Thoughts and prayers don't help. (They don't hinder either, so feel free to pray as much as you want - preferably alone or at least wearing a mask.)
2
Es dauert noch ca. ein halbes Jahr.
1
@24sweetguy Ooookay? Are you aware that the plague is still around after a few hundred years?
1
Did you watch the clip? You should, it would answer your question.
1
There's no god. Stop praying, start wearing your mask.
1
Huh? We are not talking about the US here.
1
? They are.
1
What exactly do you mean by "always"? Bad situations are usually the results of bad decisions. In the case of this pandemic, the bad decisions were not locking down fast and hard enough and not impose or follow rules that curb spreading the virus, like wearing masks and keeping distance. You can better judge for yourself who is more to blame: the government or the population.
1
It's nonsense. Every living creature spreads 'unchecked' as long as the environment allows it. We are no different. We are just better at changing the environment than most other creatures. Insofar we are 'not much different' from the virus, I guess. So what? Wanna die for the virus' sake? It won't be happy, because it can't live without a host. :P (Also, because it's too primitive to have emotions.)
1
It was only a few people getting reinfected. And even that's not reflective of the efficacy of a vaccine. Worst, we will need to get re-vaccinated every year or so, like with the flu. That's doable if necessary.
1
Glad you are ok. But the death rate is only around one or two percent anyway, so you not dying from it may or may not have been the result of you taking specific drugs. It's really neither here nor there. Please, everyone, listen to your doctor - they should have the latest results from all over the world.
1
@redwhite_040 Herd immunity only comes through vaccination. So stay put until vaccines are ready.
1
Stick your religion where the sun doesn't shine. Prayer doesn't help, action does.
1
Nexttrip Try That's supposed to be a joke, right? Tell me you were trying to be funny. Please. Oo
1
@rockymountainrockhound4393 * sigh * Stop reading too much conspiracy theories. Kim has nothing to do with this pandemic (apart from handling thereof inside North Korea).
1
@rockymountainrockhound4393 What? You made the claim, you prove it. :P
1
They are not laughing. They depend on us buying their products, and we don't buy as much when the economy struggles.
1
@Purple Carrot It will not disappear on its own. Why would it? If leave unchecked, it will just keep infecting people forever. It might get less deadly over time and sometimes a much more deadly strain might develop. Doesn't sound like a good option to me.
1
@Purple Carrot Of course I know there are many other viruses, corona and otherwise. Doesn't change the fact that this one is more dangerous than most. Not sure what's hard to understand about this.
1
@Purple Carrot Wearing masks, avoiding large crowds and general social distancing. Contact tracing and lockdowns if it gets too bad in a region. We did it for half a year, we can do it for another half.
1
Currently, it seems like India will be the worst hit. They are going to overtake the US in a few days.
1
It's not a solution. It's a temporary emergency measure.
1
Abhinav Banerjee That's weird. You've got more than 100,000 dead (and I'd guess the real number is way higher) and are poised to overtake the US in infections. Doesn't anyone care?
1
That deaths are not rising as fast was mentioned in the video. We did learn some things about the virus and the illness it causes in the last few months. Doesn't mean it's not a threat any more.
1
India doesn't seem to have learned anything. Case counts are rising, death counts are still high. Not what I'd call a good example.
1
@24sweetguy Yeah, you are back to August numbers. I'd suggest waiting a bit longer before celebrating. Because those numbers still don't look good.
1
Let's see. You are right, only 17,188 people died in Texas so far. That's only about double of the death count we had in Germany total. So clearly nothing to worry about! Keep going! * facepalm *
