People will never form a collective consciousness that x should not be attempted? We do actually, the most common example of this being incest and usage of wmds. The believe that taboo techs will still progress without widespread societal acceptance is beyond idiotic. Asian civilization stagnated for centuries because there are societal resistance to new technologies and innovations that heavily stagnate new technologies. Even if there are people that dared to break societal mold to test out taboo techs you will view them on the same level as child mol*sters and necrophiliac,as societal abberation that needs to be contained.

Also i digress about newer ideologies not lasting as long as older religions because 'people are educated and ask questions more' 1).The average people simply never cared that much about ideologies and simply followed whatever the state commands them, precisely like the peasants of old 2).Anyone who've studied radicalization would understand that there is zero connection between critical thinking and deradicalization. It actually is the opposite, mass education is usually followed by unthinking and passionate, almost militant fervour in religion and ideology. Dont believe me? The two most radical periods in Europe, the liberal and socialist revolutions where people killed and died for ideologies were ushered in by mass literacy and creation of a new intellegentsia. Increase of education and prosperity in India and Middle East actually triggered a religious renaissance that destroyed the pre-existing secular order there. The average jihadists or radical socialists thinks very critically and question the world around them, which leads them down to a more extreme path than their counterparts Far from making people less radical and more educated, education and asking questions make people more radical, more militant and more ideological.

Lenin made the market free not because of his beliefs in Marxist trajectory of worker's revolution (the feudal-liberal-socialist and automatons) but because he needed funds to reconstruct war-torn Russia, thus the rise of the NEP men Even the strong labour union parts are questionable.Soviet Union rarely had a succesful worker's mobilization or wildcat strikes and i can say the same about Vietnam and Laos where iphone factories made suicide nets to prevent underpaid labour from committing suicide Capitalism is the most stable because inequality under capitalism is easier to delay than under feudalism or command economy both because of technology and population cooptment If you compare capitalist era with the previous eras where inequality cycle every three generation ended up with some horrifying brutal war or uprisings (like 30 years war or the Ming collapse) it becomes apparent that the capitalist period is far more stable when faced with inequality than our predecessors Gyms and fandoms (and ideologies to some extent)are more accurately to be said as replacement of ethnic and racial bonds and the guild mentality of the past than religion. Religion is not just about social gatherings or order, when you look at its history religion is primarily about coping with death and thereafter and to my knowledge no fandoms or gyms can provide this.People will need resort to either old religions or new religions like transhumanism to cope with death
