In every historically fascist country these nations heavily starved their colonial/conquered population (Germans with Slavs, Japanese with Manchukuo, Italy with Ethiopia) to feed the herrenvolk. People making le communism=starvation ignores the fact that most socialist countries do not have a mass of colony to exploit for resources and food. This is not to say that socialists do not have a tendency of ruining their economy with profligate spending, but "le starvation" is just a meme.
