Comments by "" (@DegreesOfThree) on "The myth of the moon goddess - Cynthia Fay Davis" video.
Most important point: @3:50 'Ix Chel and the moon goddess were separate deities.'

Crescent moon = Ishtar = Venus. At 3:50 they admit that Ixchel is not a Moon goddess.

Not to mention that Ix Chel has nothing to do with our modern Moon. They admit @3:50 Ix Chel and the Moon goddess are separate deities.

This story has nothing to do with our modern Moon. They admit @3:50, that Ix Chel is not the Moon goddess. Much more likely to be associated with Venus.

@videogollumer Ek Chuah is a merchant deity, probably not related to the planets. The Moon was associated with both male and female figures of different ages, according to wikipedia. So, it''s a very complicated topic.

@videogollumer Google search of Chak Ek leads to Ek Chuah. Ek means star. Wikipedia has no info on Chak Ek, but the shell and star motif is definitely associated with Venus, as well as the star and crescent motif in the Islamic world. The major mistake often made is to identify the crescent with the Moon. Even the crescent depicted in the cover photo of this video is not a shape that our current Moon ever takes.

@videogollumer I've already seen every video on this channel. I could also say you can't rely on Youtube videos for information, but this video is especially bad because it contradicts itself at 3:50.

@videogollumer You can see I even commented on the Morning Star video two years ago when it came out. My position is still the same... you can't assume our current solar system configuration has always remained stable. Venus by all accounts was much closer and discharged like a comet. You can't even assume that our rotation has always been in the same direction. This is why archaeoastronomy is largely bunk.

@videogollumer It's all good. To make matters more complicated, I've seen Chak Ek Chuah written online as well, so maybe there's some connection there as well. It is kind of odd that Chak Ek has no wikipedia entry.
