For 99 years, the people in British Hong Kong from their tender years were taught about human rights, personal freedom and the rights to choose, etc. -- not to mention a sense of superiority over Chinese on Mainland China. During the 2019 riot which was stirred up, commanded and funded by the U.S. and its Western allies, those violent young extremists smashed windows, destroyed shops, torched the subways, attacked the police and even killed bystanders who opposed their violence. Waving American and British flags and demanding independence for Hong Kong simply showed the deep indoctrination of those youngsters and students by imperialist Western powers after 99 years of colonization. The National Security Law is a blessing for Hong Kong. Likewise, the young generation in Taiwan Province was brainwashed for over 30 years by the DPP governments led by Lee Teng-hui, Chen Shui-ban and Tsai Ing-wen who changed the primary, high school and university history books to make the young believe they have a separate "Taiwanese" identity and are not Chinese. In practice, the DPP copied the "Kōminka movement" that the colonial Japanese government imposed on Taiwan from 1937 to 1945 and it continues well until this day. Xi Jinping swept aside the hawkish sentiment of the majority of mainlanders to use force and has repeatedly emphasized the need for a peaceful solution. Expect more concessions from China to the people on Taiwan Province in the months to come within 2022.
