  1. italian infantry had back up from artillery and antitanks and airplane cover, and had good supplies..yeah no wonder they performed well. ISNT THAT ALWAYS THE BLOODY CASE ?? Good performers were ALWAYS backed by good support and cohesion with neighbouring units. "duh"

Good performers ?; I remember an interesting note from Gavin the 82nd Airborne general where he interviewed a RUSSIAN paratrooper general/officer why the russians could not make more and better use of their paratroopers, as they had experimented and developed paratrooopers LONG before ww2. The answer is perhaps the russian patratroopers were bad performers? they sucked ? No , of course not; it was "we (the russians) never figured out how to manage and organise the whole airfleet business". There you are; logistics and the general concept of BACK UP and COHESION.
