  1. Malta had to be taken at once when Italy declared war on UK. Italians had airtransport, paratroopers and small attack boats..the brits on Malta had virtually nothing. Once Malta was out of the way, there would be no enemy submarine basis next door. Would have helped Rommel much more, and likely got him in Egypt faster.
    2
