  1. what I find peculiar of Rommel here is: HIS main interest was getting Tobruk thru a siege. he got his STRATEGIC sense correct in prioritizing Tobruk. Then he got wind of a major , but SLOW advance of the enemy. Thru luck (i am sure the DAK would NOT HAVE expected to kill so many brit tanks as they did...). it turns out that cruwel/dak NEUTRALISED the most IMMEDIATE threat to his siege. Now, the choice is between (1) CONTINUING the siege/speed up tobruk taking (his MAIN initial priority) with 60% of his troops and leave 40% to cruwell to mop up the defeated british units IMMEDIATELY NEAR his side and EXPECT that the remainder of british troops (more inf and FAR away) to call off the attacks, or advance cautiously and thus BUYING TIME...in line with his ASSESSMENT of cautious cunningham...or (2) based on a MERE frail hunch that cunningham MIGHT flee in panic, send ALL his depleted and weary DAK troops INSIDE a british Kessel to search for ..WHAT exactly?? with certainty that his vehicles will break down, spread out, without support, and NO reserves... This is totally imbecile...I cant believe noone at german HQ didnot get after action reports and DEMOTED Rommel and rather promoted cruewell instead...
