  1. This reminds me a lot of J1407b. When it was discovered it was originally suggested to be a super-saturn planet with “the biggest rings in the universe” but that hypothesis has been mostly disproven. In reality J1407b is a rogue brown dwarf with a debris disk planets are forming in. (essentially, it isn’t a planet, doesn’t have rings like Saturn’s, and doesn’t even orbit the star it was thought to orbit) However, thousands of sources (including NASA’s own website) still list J1407b as a Super-Saturn. Just goes to show that mistakes like this in science communication are very common, and more needs to be done to stop them
