@ahmedalsharman You have very little notion about how a war is being waged today. Sheer numbers of regular or reserve soldiers are not the most important thing. Russia will very soon face serious economic troubles and above that very likely it's not logistically (and financially) able to manage a full scale mobilisation. Also, little trained soldiers are of very limited value today, no matter their numbers. Now it's not 1943 any more. See what shaming logistical troubles the Russian army had even with it's 200k men regular army. The Russian army is badly trained, outdated and with very bad competence division. The Ukrainian army may not be much better equipped than the Russian but it is modern trained, with better both tactics and strategy, even the lower officers are given a great deal of independence of decision. On the top of that, the support from the West will only increase in time and can never really run out, while Russians will be less and less possible to finance this idiotic military adventure of theirs.

In Russia citizens have absolutely no say on what the dictator decides to do and in the same vein it is the russian tradition that the tsar is absolutely unconcerned by the suffering and losses of his own people. So whether they appreciate it or not makes no difference whatsoever.

@ahmedalsharman The NATO countries are only providing some equipment and finance. If the NATO armies really got involved, it would be all soon over. The Russian army proved to be utterly incompetent, performing poorly even against an army 5 times smaller.

@bongbong6464 If you say the russian rouble is going high at record level, it means you have absolutely no notion about economics and any discussion is useless. Just shortly: The russian rouble is no more a convertible currency, in Russia you can't buy the dollar for rouble and if you can, it's not for the official rate, but a black market rate that is much higher. The official rate of the russian rouble is artificially created by the russian central bank and has nothing to do with it's real value.

@bongbong6464 I can't believe you are so naive.. Of course, Russia needs dollars to buy advanced western technology products. Rouble is not a freely convertible courency any more so it's not interesting for anybody. EU will stop buying russian oil or gas in 1 or 2 years, maybe sooner. It's already been decided.

@bongbong6464 Poor boy.. you don't even know how gas distribution works.. You cannot redirect gas supplies easily, it takes many years to build new gas lines and even if you do this you will sell for prices much lower than to EU. And even in Asia many countries won't buy russian oil and gas because sanctions could fall on them as well. Russia is an economical midget in comparison with US, EU or China and no one wants to risk loosing these huge markets for the sake of the marginal market of Russia.

It's pathetic but it may work. Russia may end up as a country that lives off by collecting ransome from other countries for not bombing them with nukes. Maybe a strange business model but they've already lost all credit anyway so why should they care.
