By "major geopolitical power" Russians often think only of their nuclear arsenal and even their government more and more often steer the conversation this way. You don't need to be rich to be able to blackmail anyone with a mighty weapon. As a mafia-run state that Russia now certainly is, they can basically make a successful business model of collecting ransome from other countries for not bombing them with nukes. Russia is not far from that now, anyway.

Unfortunately people like him have been systematically hunted and killed since the revolution 1917 and now they are a really rare kind in Russia.

Putin's values are: come, destroy everything, subdue everyone, kill all who resist subduing.

That's why they had to go to "liberate" Ukraine and want go even further. They just want others to feel free as they do.

You can't just put all blame on Putin and give absolution to everyone else. 70% Russians still support Putin even after 4 months of this horrible unnecessary war. They either support Putin, or are too scared to oppose, or don't care at all. Only really very tiny fragment of Russians actively do something against their criminal mafia-style government. (like the owner of this channel, for example)

@samuelglover7685 Yes.. If they can't be a big, peaceful and rich state, let them become a hundred poor little devils who could rage as they wish but only at their homes, posing no threat to other countries.

@ФреддиКрюгер-й1н No, only the citizens who support their criminal and evil governments like that in the pre-war Germany or today's Russia.

What Russians really need is to start to feel heavily the impact of the sanctions. That's the only way to make them loose that careless attitude towards what's happening in Ukraine. Unfortunately the true heavy impact won't come until the first quarter of the next year.

@cygnusx-3217 US and UK didn't attack Yemen and didn't directly participated in the war. Also they didn't torture and execute civilians in their homes as Russians do in Ukraine.

@cygnusx-3217 I think you yourself are painfully aware how this your parable is completely out of place and any sense. Also I am deeply convinced that after all the horrible and unnecessary athrocities the barbarian and unruly Russian troops committed on the Ukrainian civilians, we (and Ukrainians) are far past any tries to negotiate with the Russians. Now just arms will decide. Ukrainians now fight their another "великую отечественную войну" against the fascized Russian hordes, protect their children, wives and homes and their morale is therefore very high, while the brainwashed Russians just came to kill, rape, steal and destroy and therefore have the morale of criminal elements.

@maxkvet1413 The big difference is that criminal act committed by us troops are normally prosecuted and punished by the court, while the atrocities committed by Russian troops are never investigated and never punished. There is nothing like real or even independent justice in Russia. US admit their soldiers commit a crime from time to time, Russia always denies everything. US never target civilians on purpose and very rarely by mistake, Russians proved many times they never care about civilians, and in this war they targeted so many civilian homes, bolck of flats and other non-military objects, that it's certain they do it on purpose. US do not attack other countries to steal their land, while Russia terrorizes it's smaller neighbours taking parts of their land.

The Russian people allowed this Russian government and have been witnessing it's being more and more aggressive and paranoic in the last 10 years.
