  2.  @friedchicken4735  .... I agree, except there WILL be problems. I am not a doctor, nor emergency person in any capacity, but there will be a time when certain injuries are going to be more life threatening, if the person hurt is male or female. . If not life threatening, an injury may be more "quality of life" related, depending on male or female. At some point, due to mass casualty situation, plane crash or something, and an emergency respondor will have to make a snap judgement on care for an person. Based on anatomical factors, a person who "appears" to be male or female, may not get immediate enough attention and suffer needlessly as a result. . This is all speculation on my part, but willing to bet this issue HAS come up and a less than ideal call was made in the field. This could be compounded, should an ID be an "X", "non-binary" or say "male", but actually be a pregnant female who "identifies" as male. Imagine the lawsuit that WILL happen, if a woman, who appears to be male, has the ID saying is male, but is only due to mastectomy or something. . This has probably already happened, but it absolutely WILL at some point and creating legal documentation stating the incorrect gender of a person can have some extremely negative consequences. Those consequences will cost the reputation of an emergency responder their job, reputation and maybe a lifetime of guilt for not figuring it out sooner at the time of the emergency. . So long as someone is a legal adult, I have zero issues with transition, but we are introducing complexities that we cannot yet imagine and legal documentation that is biologically wrong, compounds this further :( . PS> Here's a scenario. A responder sees an "X" on ID, but MUST be sure. Is that responder to visually inspect genitalia? Imagine the lawsuit that happens when an "X" person says they were "s*** assaulted" by that responder, because they visually checked or touched them between the legs? This sounds absolutely ridiculous, but this WILL happen at some point and will be a freaking mess of a legal situation. This is all because we want people to "feel" affirmed... SMFH!
