  1.  @TheCroupier74  Yes article 5 was invoked by USA in 2001 after 9/11 however it was not against a Nuclear superpower.

  2.  @TheCroupier74  Every NATO country contributed to article 5 after Bush cried out for help. You see article 5 do not stipulate that "you" have to send troop, you can support in other ways. The article 5 in 2001 sent many NATO countries and none NATO countries into a 20 yr war with terrorists. Also on a little sidenote, several none NATO countries also came to aid USA with troops costing them money, lives and a target on their back. Countries like Ukraine sent troops to Afghanistan, Iraq for example. So do a little research before you throw out "words" like it was Rubles.

  8. From a Swedish perspective having been in the military for over 40 yrs, I can say that the military have taken Russia very seriously. It's the politicians that have put European military in such a disadvantage and that proclaimed the "everlasting peace" after the collapse of USSR. For us officers/ soldiers that kept working with annual lowered budgets, well as you can understand we did not do ut for money, we saw the problem and continuously warned the politicians. It took an annexation of Crimea and a full scale invasion for those numbnuts to smell the coffee.
