  1. Why would you take any notice of someone who built a 'model' on the basis that 2 jabs of Pfizer would reduce the chance of transmission by 93% (high 80's for AZ). The Doherty Report is a piece of crap. The 70 and 80 percent targets had already been decided upon by Andrews and Palaszczuk prior to the Doherty Institute even be asked to conduct an assessment by Scott Morrison. The report was simply written 'backward', using mostly undated and incorrect assumptions, to support those political decisions. No further analysis is required by expensive consultants. There is no shortage of overseas real world examples to estimate the case and hospital numbers when achievable vaccinate rates are in place e.g. Israel. If a junior staff member in the Health Department can't crunch the numbers they should be fired. These people just talk BS.

  2. Because Australian politicians, supported by the media, have dug themselves into a hole that it is very difficult to now get out off. That's all this whole thing is about, politicians trying to protect their arses, and win re-election. They are going to be as successful at that as they have been in managing covid.
