@waza987 Perhaps I'm missing something. Is not the option to home school your children available to you? I thought it was always an option as long as you could demonstrate the necessary capability. Is so, if your are uncomfortable with your children going to school keep them home, if not send them to school. What's so difficult with that? I agreed with the broader statement of many, if its safe enough to send kills to school (agree it is) its safe enough to open every business. The now unemployed staff at my local quiet suburb pub would be in less risk than teachers at a crowed school. Why is a kids education more important than someone being able to pay their rent or put food on the table? That's right, politicians have kids!

@waza987 I think we seem in agreement that getting all kids back to school is not a higher priority over other aspects. Kids are young and adaptive and have a whole life to make up a few months delay in their education. Even those doing their HSC, simply fix, we don't want all the foreign university students back in any great hurry, so plenty of places in any course they care to choose. To me its all about getting the young vulnerable workers who were on low wages so have few savings or support systems back into work. The dole is a very poor substitute for meaningful work, being busy, engaging with the community, exposure to motivated people etc. Nothing more destructive than sitting up all night playing computer games, smoking dope and sleeping all day. This is a sure path toward mental health and long term social problems. No one in the media or politicians seems to give a shit about these people who traditionally pull beers, wait on tables, work in the kitchen etc. The focus seems to be just on people's self interests eg, kids back at school, football restarted, motor sport, etc.

@rakeshhubert3031 Yes, he is an idiot. Roselands shopping center in Sydney's south was jam packed Sunday just after lunch time. Standing in a queue waiting to get in JB Hifi I felt for the poor cafe owner just in front who has been forced to remain shut for now no purpose whatsoever. With all the crowds everywhere he's being sent bankrupt for pure symbolic reason as a final show of government 'authority'. The government don't seem to realized no one is listening to their nonsense anymore. The longer they keep up the pretense the more they will be hated, and that is a very bad likely permanent development in the Australian psyche.
