@davidclark9619 Question: How do you know the same result couldn't have been achieved without extreme lock downs? Like what did the lock down in rural Victoria do? How about absolutely NOTHING. Even the WHO don't support lockdowns, unless as an absolute last resort when the hospital system is about to be totally overrun.

Donald Trump WAS right .... on so many things. The threat of China, reducing the burden of big government, climate change is mostly a left-wing hoax, closing the border to China in the very early days of covid, pulling out of the Paris agreement, alternative Covid treatments, trying to keep the economy open, etc, etc, etc, etc. The ONLY thing he probably was right on was underestimating the power of 'the swamp'. He took it on, and the swamp fought back, seemingly winning in the end, at least for the next 2 years.

At that time the White House press conferences were about the only decent source of information IN THE WORLD. Provided a naval hospital ship and field hospital to New York. Invoked the relevant defense act to force industry to manufacture ventilators and PPE. Championed the development of a vaccine in record time. Promoted alternative medications such as Hydroxyrchlorocrine which have now been proven to be effective. DIDN'T go around telling people they must wear masks as they make NO DIFFERENCE. In fact the science is they make it worse due to creating a false sense of security. Would you like me to go on ..........

@KoiandDragon So you like to think logically hey. So think about this one. Influenza globally kills around 650,000 people per year, EVERY year. Why was there never a health directive to wear masks when you went to visit someone in a hospital or an aged care facility prior to 2020? Reason: 40 years of research had found the public wearing of masks to be ineffective in the control of virus such as Influenza. There has been no original research done into the effectiveness of masks since covid became a problem. FFS, masks have been compulsory in many European countries for months and its made FA difference. P.S. Surgeons wear mask when they operate so their spit doesn't land in the open wounds of the person they have cut open.

Be fair. Donald was also promoting alternative medications for both the treatment and prevention of Covid in the face of massive ridicule and media hysteria. Again he was right that these alternatives have now been shown to be effective when used in the appropriate situation.

@stansantini8884 I'm not taking it either. BUT, it probably is a VERY effective outcome for high risk groups. Around 50% of all covid deaths are in aged care facilities. Add in stay at home aged care, and you're probably up to 60-70% of all covid deaths. If they just vaccinate this group (upon their approval, they still have rights) the outcome could be good. This group are dying already, the virus just speeds up the process, so unknown long term side effects are not an issue.

Trump's early predictions were completely consistent with what Fauci was saying, the WHO, and even Scott Morrison (was was going to watch his beloved Sharks). Donald Trump was also FAR keener to keep the US economy open than either the Australia or NZ leaders. He only agreed to shutdowns in the face of near hysteria by the MSM and left wing politicians (and in that term I include the little rat Fauci).

@registerme2 From what you've written, I conclude you don't actually know much about the subject. The ONLY reason Australia and New Zealand has been little affected by Covid is because they are islands in a remote part of the globe. All that was necessary was to control incoming people, which other than the idiot running Victoria, was done reasonably well. The death rate per million people in the USA is comparable with most European countries. As the most obese nation on earth (obesity being THE major risk factor for covid) it should actually be number 1. Health policy in the USA is just like Australia in that it is principally the responsibility of the States. Nine of the top 10 deaths per million by State in the USA are controlled by the Democrats. New Jersey and New York have death rates 3 times that of the UK, Democrat run states. Governor Cuomo of New York should be put in jail for his actions.

Just like Australia that is not something Donald Trump can do, there are things called 'laws' that govern this sort of thing. Donald Trump stopped travel into the US from China before even Australia did. Australia actually followed the example set by Donald Trump. And if you think 'age' is the highest risk factor, there really isn't much point even discussing the subject of covid with you because you know very little about it. 97% of people who died in New York had one serious comobidity, 90% had two or more. Age is just a proxy for physical health and fitness. 50% of covid deaths are in aged care. People aren't in high care aged homes for a holiday, they are there because they are already dying. A fit and health 80 year old who has taken care of themselves over a lifetime verses a 30 year morbidly obese person who smokes, drinks, and lives on junk food and has consequently developed Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and cardio vascular disease ...... want to bet your house (if you own one) who is more likely to die if they both contract covid?

@registerme2 Oh, and by the way, any case I've ever seen of someone reported to have suffered long term lung damage from covid had been placed on a respirator. It's the respirator that cause the lung damage. There are now better recovery rates because they have STOPPED using these stupid machines. And if natural herd immunity doesn't exit from catching covid, then no vaccine can possibly work. A vaccine works by fooling the body it has caught the disease. Nothing else, the body just responds EXACTLY as if it had really caught the virus building natural defense mechanisms. You really don't know much about the subject at all. Maybe you should actually do some research rather than wasting time on YouTube.

The existence of comorbidities IS the major risk factor in covid. Over 50% of all covid fatalities are in aged care. EVERYONE in aged care has a comorbidity, they are already dying from it. EVERYONE who is obese has some comorbidity whether they know it or are being treated for it or not. An obese person is near certain to be well on their way to Type 2 diabetes. 40% of Americans are classified as obese, around 26% morbidly obese. The rates are even higher in the Afro-american community. That's the real reason for 300,000 US people dying. They have had a public health crisis for the past 40+ years. Covid is just a relatively mild bug exposing the real public health crisis to the world. Boris Johnson is way younger than Prince Charles. One looks after their health, the other is a fat slob. Which one suffered badly when they both caught covid?
