@BigGen222 Bit pedantic, the Reserve Bank is Australia's central bank. Just because its called the Bundesbank (federal bank) in Germany same deal, the county's central bank.

Savers are generally old people, own their home, and so don't matter. Only younger media presenters still with home mortgages are important.

@JamielDeAbrew Agreed, but a significant difference is young savers aren't trying to live of the return from their savings. AND... people wanting to buy their first home should be praying interest rates go up to double digit figures, the higher the better. Their potential repayments will just be the same because house prices will have crashed, and they will quickly get on top of the repayments when rates eventually came back down (and the value of their new home increases again).

Your spot on. While some of the Sky presenters may have been the first to reverse course, initially all of them were as gung ho on lockdowns, vaccinations, etc etc as any other media source.
