  1. The only reason coal use has been decreasing domestically is because of government policies and incentives that distort the market. Remove that and coal is by far the cheapest form of power generation. That is the reason China and Japan are building coal power plants.

  2. There is no debate about coal's ongoing viability. Coal is a highly valuable export, with demand forecast to increase slightly in the foreseeable future. There is only fake news about its declining "viability" being pushed by climate extremists. Over 50% of global coal production is consumed by only one country, China.
