@xpusostomos Anyone claiming to be an economics expert and only two years ago predicted interest rates to remain low (0.1% at the time) for the next 4 years IS incompetent.

All the statement "it was the view the vast majority of the staff supported" regarding interest rates staying at an artificially and extreme low rate till 2024 proves is the "mast majority" of the Reserve Bank staff are completely incompetent. At the time that statement was made, inflation in both Europe and the USA was already running out of control, and in response central banks had started to push interest rates higher. Anyone with just a ounce of common could figure interest rates in Australia would also have to rise significantly.

@xpusostomos If I just ignore the likely possibility that only a troll would write something so stupid, the very FACT that interest rates had been driven down to historically low rates (0.1%, virtually free money) is reason itself to assume they MUST at some time rebound back to normal significantly higher rates. The only question was when. With the world awash with government borrowed 'stimulus' money it was obvious that inflation would, and had already, taken hold across the globe like a wildfire.
