  1. So Christine just what happens if the boat gets past Border Force in international waters and those who claim to be refuges land on Australian soil? Will they be detained and transported to Nauru? I don't think this can be done, so hence the need for TPV's. It's only if the boat is picked up in international waters that it can turned back or the people taken to Nauru.... at least that's my initial understanding.

  2. I'm sure they enjoy the considerable financial benefit the arrangement bring to the island. A society based solely on growing coconuts and catching fish isn't exactly conducive to the well being of its citizens.
