@wilowest3509 There is an old saying you may not have heard which you should probably take note of .... "It's better to keep your mouth shut and people think you a fool, than open it and remove all doubt".

Yes, the Millennials are slowly taking over ... and what a god damn mess they are making of the country. The greatness of Australia wasn't really achieved by the baby-boomer generation. It was created by their parents, the Great Depression/WWII generation. Strength comes from adversity. The country is just sliding downhill with each passing spoilt and softer generation.

Hate to burst your bubble, but the system of generous retirement benefits that politicians used to get was abolished years ago. Other than an ever dwindling number who qualified under the old scheme, their retirement benefits are IDENTICAL to ever other working Australian.

@jerrymiller9039 The "greater technology and labor saving devices" you refer to IS the very reason the younger generation is so lazy, narrow minded, and out of touch with the real world. Most of them wouldn't even know how to change a flat tyre on a car.

Sorry to burst you bubble. The parents forcing their young children to wear masks are pathetic Millennials. The baby-boomer generation grew up riding motorcycles in a pair of board shorts and 'flip flops' (for US readers). Rode down steep hill in home made billy carts with no brakes. Walked unaccompanied to school, played down the street and as long as they were home before dark no one cared. As a result they are VASTLY more resourceful and resilient than the current crop of narrow minded panic merchants called Millennials. Was it the elderly fighting over toilet paper during covid?

God help us all when the Millennials get total control of everything. Most of them can't even change a flat tyre on a car. And yes, that they are a spoilt, sheltered, and largely naive and intolerant lot is the fault of their baby-boomer parents.

Your principals will be largely defined by the "time or decade" or place your were born in. The Great Depression generation really cared about the well being of their neighbours. Now about the only think they care about is what prick has taken my parking spot outside my house.
