  1. Virtually every cent of military spend is a total waste of money unless major conflict breaks out. And as that is NOT going to happen, at least a conflict that Australia should get involved in, the ONLY half justifiable reason is 'job creation' for AUSTRALIN companies. I doubt very much if a single component of these subs and support systems will be built by an Australian company. EVERYTING will be done by the major US contractors.

  2. In building and operating these submarines Australia will learn NOTHING about nuclear technology. EVERY facet of those components will be designed, built, and maintained by US companies. At most they will employ Australians at a 'grunt' level for domestic duties.

  4. How many Australian lost lives do you consider still "worth the price" to be a slave to US foreign policy and its proxy wars? Is the roughly 1000 killed and 5000 physically maimed for life (many more mentally) a good deal?

  5.  @bairdy78  What exactly is the "developing threat" that China poses to Australia? I've yet to see anyone explain it other than glib one liners, so would appreciate it if you could actually explain it. Thanks.
